Despite my best intentions, time has gotten away from me with this blogging thing. I wanted this to be a place where I could journal my faith walk and keep a journal of prayers and answered prayers. I know that there have many answered prayers and blessings since August 8 that I have failed to journal. I am going to make every effort to do better.
I couldn't let this very BIG answer to prayer go without journaling. For probably a year and a half I have been praying for a Spirit revival in Rick. Rick's faith used to be so visible. What I mean by visible is I would witness him on a daily basis in prayer, bible study, listening to Christian music and other media, etc. Shortly into 2010, these things came to an abrupt halt. Or at least that's the way it looked to me. I no longer saw him reading his bible. Very seldom did I ever know of him turning to the Christian music station on XM radio. I never witnessed him in prayer. I had to practically drag him to church on Sunday mornings. This has weighed heavy on my heart for a long time now. I have prayed and prayed for a renewal of Spirit in my husband, and praise God, it is happening. Hallelujah!!!!!! It's almost like the switch that got switched off has gotten switched back on. Thank you Jesus for working in my husband's heart. I love you and I know Rick does too. You are so good and faithful.

What a day!! I can't believe how bad it started and how much worse it is going to end. I know that this is small stuff, but it's stuff that I have real issues with. First, I got really angry with Rick this morning when he made me feel like I am nothing more around this house than the maid. I feel like all I do is pick up after him and he never notices or gets hints that I try to give. Then he gets mad when I lose my cool. I realized after he left angry that I am having guilt issues. I want nothing more than to be the best wife I can be for Rick. I pray about that often. He informed me last night that we are going to have to pay someone to help him with a REALTOR luncheon that I can't be at because I picked up an extra day in the dental office that week. I feel incredibly guilty because I can't help and we have to pay someone. But, I would feel even more guilty if I turned down an opportunity to pick up an extra day in the dental office. I apologized to Rick for things that I said that I probably shouldn't have said. I explained to him my guilt issues and the my struggles to be the perfect wife. I asked him to pray for me. Sadly, I don't think that will happen.
Then this evening he informs me, that despite his efforts to discourage his parents, they have booked the same cruise that we are going on in February. Neither of us want them to go, and I am absolutely furious for the position that they have put Rick in. I want to let them know that if we wanted them to go we would have invited them. I am going to end up speaking my mind before it is over with.
Father God, please let me get past this very angry place I'm in and move past this. This will absolutely destroy me if I let it. I need to find a way to make peace with the situation because it looks like I have no way out of it, short of cancelling the only vacation Rick will have in over a year. Please help Leon to be more likeable, because at this point, I absolutely despise being around him.

Wow...how time gets away. It's been a while since I've taken time to make an entry, even though I think about doing it all the time. When I see God at work in my life and the lives of my family and friends, I make a mental note that I need to record these times so I never forget the "awesomeness" of our God. I've had somewhat of a heavy heart lately. Real estate business is really, really slow right now and when things slow down, I get nervous. And with all the hullabaloo on Capital Hill about the nations economy and the decisions that our Congressmen are making and how it's going to affect us, that has everyone in somewhat of a panic as well. It's at times like these when I am not only grateful for my faith but also for my ignorance regarding such complex issues. As they say, ignorance is bliss and I know that my faith is strong enough to sustain me through any trial or tribulation. Dear Lord, always help me to remember that you want what's best for me. You are looking out for me and watching me and protecting me. Thank you Lord.
Finally got to see Dr. Long today about possibly reversing my VBG. While it makes me a little nervous to consider this procedure, I am excited about his positive outlook on the results and getting insurance to approve it. I just pray that all will work out according to God's will.
There's a lot of heartache among my friends right now. The Looney family is mourning the death of Gail's mother. Patty and her family are dealing with prognosis her dad received last week. They say he has about two months to live. I lift these up to you Father, and ask that you comfort them and give them strength to get through this difficult time.
On a happier note, Jenny's brother is improving daily after his car accident that left him pretty bad off. Dennis got a great follow up report after his Whipple procedure to remove tumors in his bile duct. Saw Aunt Louise on Monday and it's just remarkable how well she has recovered from hip surgery even after all of the setbacks she had. God is so good.
Enjoying a pretty low key week as the dental office is closed and I am just catching up on some things around the house. So grateful for my job, but love having a week off just the same.
